The Faculty Senate Committee for Women & Minorities (CWM) is charged with reviewing the conditions of employment and academic opportunities of female and minority faculty members, including recruitment and hiring practices, teaching responsibilities, research opportunities, promotion, tenure, and appointment to significant administrative posts and committees. Additionally, as an advocate for female and minority faculty, the Committee is concerned with any general problems that affect such faculty.

Members of the CWM span a cross section of disciplines within the University, from the Miller School of Medicine and the College of Arts and Sciences to the School of Communication, the School of Nursing and Health Studies and the University of Miami Libraries. In addition, we promote the activities of our sister organizations, provide information about upcoming events, invite suggestions of innovation in the area of diversity, and profile accomplishments of women and minorities.
